What is single status certificate Attestation?: Single status certificate has its meaning hidden in its name. It is an authentic legal evidence of an individual's single status . Be it an offer letter or registration for passport, one must mention one's marital status. Ticking on 'single' status declares that the person is single. What are the documents needed TO GET unmarried certificate?:

  • Photocopy of the passport (first and last page)
  • Birth certificate
  • Aadhar Card
  • Ration CARD
  • Passport Copy
  • An affidavit stating that the applicant is not yet married. (date is also mentioned)
  • What's the procedure to get unmarried certificate?

  • The applicant should visit to Tahsildar/VAO office (if the applicant native is in Tamilnadu)
    Or, an NRI can visit to the Indian High Commissioner with the foregone documents (if he/she lives abroad).

  • Note :
  • All the documents should be duly notarized.
  • Keep a 20 rupees stamp paper for affidavit and write the statement. Then, notarize it too.
  • Submit all the documents to the Tahsildar/VAO office authority with the requisite fee.
  • Normally Within 30 days, a police inquiry will be conducted if required.
  • Be ready with at least 2 witnesses. They can be the neighbours.
  • After police verification, the papers will be sent to the Tahsildar /VAO office for final process.
  • Thereafter, the single status certificate will be issued to the applicant.
  • Attestation process 1:

    After getting original single status certificate , you can get HRD attestation in Chennai public foreigner department located at Chennai secretariat campus.
